Why an SVG and not a font character
The riyal sign got its own Unicode character, U+20C1, in Unicode 17 (September 2025). Most fonts and phones do not draw it yet, so typing the character often shows an empty box. An SVG looks the same everywhere today.

Who made the new Saudi riyal symbol?
The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) introduced it in February 2025. The drawing here follows the official symbol and is redrawn to sit on a 24px icon grid.
Can I use it in commercial work?
Yes. It is one of the free Neat Icons, free for personal and commercial use, with no credit needed.
Can I change the color and size?
Yes. It is a vector, so it stays sharp at any size. With currentColor it takes your text color; you can also set any fill or stroke color.
Does it work in Arabic, right to left layouts?
Yes. The symbol does not flip in RTL. Put it after the number in Arabic and before or after it in English, the way your product writes prices.
